Hilton Head Island’s first Hydro foil Camp complete! Native SonAdventures
Have you ever been on the bow of a boat and had the pleasure of watching dolphins surfing in the wake? Its like they are truly one with the power of the wave. Sliding and gliding effortlessly in their own silent watery dance. Here is your chance to feel the sensation! Native Son Adventures is stoked now offer Hydro Foil camps. Whats a Hydro Foil and why ?? The main reason we install hydrofoils onto their watercraft is to decrease the drag of the board as it travels through the water. By decreasing the drag, the watercraft is able to travel at higher speeds. This makes the ride much smoother, because the board rides above the reach of most of the waves. Most hydrofoils lift the watercraft that they are supporting in the same way that airplane wings keep the plane supported in…
Massive Red Drum caught Fishing Hilton Head waters! Girl Power does it again!
Exploring is everything to me. I love asking my clients “hey you guys wanna just go explore”? I find the essence of ‘fishing’ and life is looking in new areas and trying new techniques. Sometimes you hit the ball out of the park and sometimes not so much. This time we hit it out of the park, what a battle, what a surprise. The weather had just gotten nice after weeks of grey windy cold blaaahhhh. We had the music pumping just enjoying the sun, having some laughs catching a few small Sea bass and Weakfish. Out of nowhere the big rod up on the rocket launcher started screaming, I yelled “Fish On”! Which was fitting because I was running my long time fishing partner Captain Trent Malphrus’s New 24 foot Bad to the bone Pathfinder he named Fish On (Palmetto Lagoon Charters)….
Hilton Head Island’s 2018 Summer Surf and Enrichment camp is in full swing.
Kowabunga friends and families! Here we go, 2018 Hilton head summer surf and enrichment camp is on!! Out of all of the nicknames I have had in my life “SURFDOG” is my favorite! The Surfcamp is evolving and is becoming so much more than the act of surfing. Year after year working with thousands of families, I have noticed how much we need to be able to just let go of all the stresses of life. The adults and the kids are under more pressure to perform than ever. What life is really about is about connecting with the ones we love or ourselves. Yoga, health and learning to follow my “intuition” have become the roots of my healthy happy lifestyle. So its natural that over the years I have slowly worked these important ingredients into our daily activities. When I would enter…
Beating Cancer and catching Redfish on Hilton Head Island !
What a great day fishing with my new friends Dale and “Auntie” Becky Hudack ! We had to work at it, but like a light switch Mother Nature decided to turn on!! Becky fought this giant Bull redfish on the super-light rod for what seemed like a hour!! She is getting a custom replica made by the amazing artists at Greys Taxidermy to put on the wall. She said, “Byron this is a big deal! I was fighting for my life not long ago, not knowing if I was ever going to fish again. Look at me now!” I am so lucky to have this job and lifestyle. I am also lucky to be able to Guide in the legendary Palmetto Dunes Resort on their amazing, eleven mile, fifty year old saltwater lagoon system. I have been working with Palmetto Lagoon charters and my fishing…
Blast from the Past ! Ambergris Cay Turks and Caicos .. A Private Island
http://tc-sportingclub.blogspot.com/2006/08/cuda-catch-on-ambergris-cay.html During my daily morning bike ride through the islands trails, I planned my day. Conditions are crucial; wind, sun and tides create special recipes for diverse activities. Sunrise crept over the horizon, and beams of light shot through the sky. The Columbus pass and near-shore waters looked like glass. I decided to start with early morning top water fishing. My target area was the maze of reef cuts adjacent to Tarpon Point on the northwest tip of Ambergris Cay. I started with a chug plug and spinning rod. My first cast was right on a boiling eddy created by the corner of a spectacular and brightly colored reef. My plug landed; I let it sit for a moment, and then began twitching the lure across the water towards the boat. Chug, chug, SLAM! My lure exploded as if a…
