BEATING CANCER AND CATCHING REDFISH ON HILTON HEAD ISLAND !

What a great day fishing with my new friends Dale and “Auntie” Becky Hudack ! We had to work at it, but like a light switch Mother Nature decided to turn on!! Becky fought this giant Bull redfish on the super-light rod for what seemed like a hour!! She is getting a custom replica made by the amazing artists at Greys Taxidermy to put on the wall. She said, “Byron this is a big deal! I was fighting for my life not long ago, not knowing if I was ever going to fish again. Look at me now!”

I am so lucky to have this job and lifestyle. I am also lucky to be able to Guide in the legendary Palmetto Dunes Resort on their amazing, eleven mile, fifty year old saltwater lagoon system. I have been working with Palmetto Lagoon charters and my fishing partner/best friend  Capt. Trent Malphrus for years, they are the fishing outfitter for the Lagoon system and Hilton Head Outfitters which is where I run my surf camps out of. The lagoon is full of monster Sea-trout, Redfish , BlackDrum, Flounder and some Tarpon.

Dale caught a few nice ones as well. Spring on Hilton Head Island in full effect!! So stoked to get the ball rolling after surfing and fishing in the pacific this winter. There’s no place like home!! STAY WET, TIGHT LINES and AlWaYs DO iT WiTh A NATIVE!
